Abbey pupils celebrate more outstanding success with excellent GCSE results

Fifth year students at the Abbey Christian Brothers’ Grammar School, Newry are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results last week.

A delighted Headmaster, Mr Dermot McGovern, congratulated all the students who received their GCSE results after five years hard work in the Abbey. Over 22% of the year group achieved an outstanding 9 or more A*/A grades. He paid tribute to his hard working staff, both teaching and support staff and thanked them for all their efforts and dedication to the welfare of their students. He also acknowledged the strong school-parental links that helped the boys to achieve their best.

The Principal Mr Dermot McGovern along with Year Tutor Mr Mark Grogan and Head of Middle School Mrs Catriona McGrath celebrate with students from the Abbey Christian Brothers’ Grammar School who achieved at least 9 or more A*/A grades in their GCSE examinations. Included are Eoin Carr, Cian Carragher, Tiernan Caulfield, Conor Cleverley, Cailum Davis, Eoin Finnerty, Ross Garvey, Padhraic Gibbons, Jack Grant, Tom Hamill, Ryan Haughey, James Keane, Tyler Keenan, Jordan Lively, Denis Lynch, Cathal Maguire, James McKeveney, Maciej Natzke, Ultan Ó Coigligh, Patrick O’Connor, Callum O’Hare, Adam Piwowarczyk, Adarsh Seeram, Milosz Sieczka & Fearghal Vallely. Twelve Abbey students achieved 11 A*/A grades or more in their GCSE examinations.
