Yesterday we didn’t just say goodbye — we celebrated every lesson learned, every friendship made, and every memory created. The shirts are signed, the speeches are done, and the tears (and laughs!) have been shared.
Thank you for the laughter, the energy, and the unforgettable memories. You’ve shaped this school in more ways than you know.
Thanks also to Fr Carlos, the Year 14 Pastoral Team, led by Ms O’Hare and Mr Grogan for what was truly a memorable ceremony.
The Last Game of Yard Ball EVER….
One ball. Two teams. A 3G pitch. And a hundred memories stitched into the grass.
Today, our senior boys played their last game of yardball—a tradition that goes back generations. No scoreboard, no refs (well none that anyone would listen to), just scraped knees, inside jokes, and the kind of laughter that only happens when you’re still half a kid. ❤️
These Abbey lads have been playing this game since they could barely kick straight and some still can’t kick never mind straight…
But life moves, and so do they – off to university, jobs, and futures that feel a little too close now. This wasn’t just a game. It is the Abbey tradition, growing up together from Year 8 in 2018 to the end of their days at the Abbey.
Today, the sun set a little slower. The boys lingered on the 3G a little longer than usual. No one said it out loud, but everyone knew—it was the last one.
In a notable breakaway from the traditional ARMAGH V DOWN teams, BURGUNDY SAUCE were the winners, having won on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
