These inspirational young men were today presented with their yellow ‘Wellbeing Ambassador’ badges.
They have pledged to volunteer their time to help other pupils in school by promoting positive mental health, offering a listening ear and signposting pupils in need to members of staff who can help.
They are involved in organising and delivering school assemblies, mental health activities and fundraising for mental health charities.
The first fundraising event this year will be on Thursday 10th October, World Mental Health Day 2024 and will be a non-uniform “Hello Yellow” day.
Pupils and staff are encouraged to wear yellow (or bright colours) and make a donation to Young Minds, a charity involved in supporting young people with their mental health.
Yellow is a colour associated with positive emotions, like hope, happiness, and optimism. Wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day is a way to show support for young people who may be struggling with their mental health and conveys the message, “We see you and we are here for you”.
