‘Abair’ – Public Speaking Success

The Abbey recently took part in the preliminary round of Gael-Linn’s prestigious ‘Abair’ public speaking competition.  The Abbey entered seven students across two competitions.

Oisin Murphy and Ronan Lavery  Year 12 represented the Abbey in the GCSE competition and were extremely successful with Ronan picking up 1st Place and Oisin coming in a close second. In the A-Level section, the school was represented by Year 13 students; Joseph McKeown, Oisin Goodman, Andrew McAteer, Gareth Deane and James McKevitt, Year 14.

Andrew McAteer was awarded Joint 2nd Place and is through to the Ulster Finals along with Ronan and Oisin from the GCSE Section.  The Ulster Finals of Abair will take place in March.
