A number of students represented the school yesterday at the ERST awards in Armagh CBS Primary.

The morning started with guest speaker Professor Diamond, a past pupil of St. Mary’s CBS Belfast, giving a presentation on his work with Lough Neagh and tackling pollution with innovative solutions.

James Strain and OisΓn Hillen spoke on their work with the Zambia Immersion Project 2024 and the lasting impact it has had on them.

Michael Sullivan, Alan Sikora, Cody Loye and Tiernan Morgan represented the Mental Health Ambassadors and spoke on the work they have been doing in their role. The students also spoke on the work we as a school have done with homelessness awareness, charity fundraisers and the volunteer work with The People’s Kitchen in Belfast.

The Westcourt Centre introduced a photography competition based on the theme of β€˜Our Common Home’. Jack Cunningham (Year 11) and Tom Devlin (Year 9) were both awarded highly commended out of the entries across the North. Both were commended on their creativity and efforts with their pieces.

Well done to all the students who represented the school’s work and values in line with the Edmund Rice tradition of;

2. Promoting Partnership in the School Community
3. Excelling in Teaching and Learning
4. Creating a Caring School Community
