About this time next week, our school soccer team will be heading to their final match, and we couldn’t be more proud. Your hard work, dedication, and team spirit, captained by Kevin Turley, have brought you this far—now go out there and give it your all!

Abbey CBS are through to the NIFSA Shield Final after beating Grosvenor Grammar at the Blue bell stadium, 2-0, with goals from ⭐️James Duffy and ⭐️Adam McCann Gibbs

It was very difficult to pick a ‘man of the match’ today, but Joe McGovern was outstanding both in midfield and as centre half.

What an experience for this group of boys!

Abbey CBS are through to the NI Shield Semi-final after winning 4-2 on penalties.

After a tense opening the Abbey gradually grew into the game with Joe McGovern hitting the post just before half time.

In the second half Limavady GS scored a goal with a quick break. With ten minutes to go Adam McCann Gibbs latched on to a through ball and scored the equaliser.

In the penalty shoot out Mark McCann Gibbs made an early outstanding save to put the Abbey into the ascendancy and all of the penalty takers for the Abbey scored their penalties.

Another fantastic result from an outstanding group of young men.

Ms Lisa Hughes, Mourne Scan Clinic, Newry, has kindly sponsored our sixth form soccer team football jerseys.

The sixth form team have their quarter final this Wednesday away at Limavady Grammar School and we wish them all the best with this game.

Pictured receiving their jerseys, along with Mr Brankin and Mrs Hughes are Sean Mulholland, Sean Preece, Dylan Keenan, Kevin Turley(capt) and James Duffy.

All of the year 13 and 14 lads involved in soccer this year have been fantastic ambassadors for the Abbey.
