A Guinness World Record for Daniel

Mr Grogan, Year 14 Year Head, and Mr McCann, Form Teacher, took some time out today to recognise Daniel Smyth’s recent achievements.
Daniel received Guinness World Records for being the youngest person, and youngest male, to swim the North Channel (35km) and in the process he raised £4147.26 for the charity Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation NI.
On 30th August, Daniel went on to swim Galway Bay (10.5km), in the fastest ratified time Last week he swam from Baltimore Cork to Fastnet Rock lighthouse (20.5km), in 5 hours and 21 minutes. This made Daniel the fastest Irish swimmer to swim it and the second fastest overall. This last swim saw Daniel become the youngest person to have completed the Irish Triple Crown of marathon sea swims.
